  • What is Sisters Community Solar?

    Sisters Community Solar is the first community solar project in New Orleans. Now under construction in New Orleans East, the new solar farm will allow Entergy New Orleans customers to save money on electricity. You do not need to live near the solar farm to participate. Any eligible Entergy New Orleans customer living in Orleans Parish can subscribe.

    All wards, areas, and income levels in Orleans Parish are prioritised for subscription space.

New Orleanians have one of the highest electricity cost burdens in the country. After years of organizing by Together New Orleans, its member organizations, and community leaders, Community Solar is finally becoming a reality. Built on land owned by the Sisters of the Holy Family, Sisters Community Solar will help Orleans Parish residents lower their electricity bills while supporting the Sisters' mission and expanding access to clean, locally generated energy.
